I have to say this was one of my favorite photoshoots. Usually, my clients find me on a referral basis, but Whitney was a mama who actually found me on social media! I think the fact that my beachy bohemian aesthetic matched her vision made us kindred souls to begin with. By the time we actually met in person, we were already so excited to meet each other.
Aside from capturing these loving, sunset-warmed shots, we talked about the two births she had experienced already and how they had prepared her for her third. It is so worthwhile to speak with such strong mamas. Their perspective and advice is always uplifting and filled with such wisdom.
During our time together, we both came to the realization that motherhood will certainly make you realize that few things are in your control and learning to go with the flow is sometimes the best way to approach the day. I’m sure you could have guessed that our pre-shoot talk wasn’t very rigid, nor was it strictly all about the planning. Rather it was perfectly enough to exchange creative inspiration to and get mom-to-mom on some insecurities we could approach together.
I think what we created together was pretty magical. Orange County based photography will easily come out beautiful. You can pick the perfect time and the perfect setting, but nothing evokes the mama magic of confidence. I always put a large emphasis on creating a comfortable and empowering environment for every mama that I shoot for.These photos are about you after all! It’s so important that you feel like you can fully be your confident self. I simply love how much this mama was able to bask herself in self-love and appreciation.
